how to make my head pop off, part II
A caller on DC101 this morning claimed that while Imus is an idiot, which of course is not up for debate by any means, Snoop et. al are not remotely culpable for similar idiocy because when they use the term "bitches and hos," they are not only degrading to black women, but also white women, hispanic women, and Chinese women, as said caller was pretty sure that Snoop is fond of the Chinese women.

Ah, all-inclusive degradation. That's where it's at.

The day's intended post will be published upon reattachment of my head.

Hey man, when you're a famous for calling women bitches and hos, you ain't liable. But if you're just trying to get attention, you are.

Didn't you know there are double standards for everything??

(If Imus goes to effing rehab for his slur... I'll have lost all faith in the rehabilitation of mankind.)

I hear Britney and Lindsay are teaming up to drop him off at Promises. It cures all that ails you, I hear, including scurvy.

True dat!
What he said was obviously rude, but not having ever listened to him... I just have to believe that there's more to this story than what's being told. It seems like really poor judgement, but not really a take-your-job-away kind of offense.

Howard Stern is on the air everyday say MUCH worse things and nobody is firing him.

I actually think he should be canned, and that the Grey's Anatomy guy should have been fired too. Any of us would have been - or at leasthad we said that in the office or boardroom (and rightfully so, too). My specific issue here is that this guy thought it was ok to use these kinds of terms if you weren't making fun of one group only. Clump women all together, and then it's acceptable. ;)

All Howard Sterns (K or no) need to be shipped off to some little unnamed island where no one else exists. They can be jerks together. Maybe they could rent out a room for Imus, but he'd have to change his name to Howard.

I'm all for all- inclusive descrimitination.

Who doesn't love Asians? Really now.

Also, love the randomness of the post. ;]

Sadly, I'm not all for spelling.

discrimination (I seriously had to look that up on m-w.com. That site is such a life saver.)

Much ado about nothing. The media has, as usual, taken something that should have died the day after it was spoken and made it "appear" to be a big issue. No one I know is talking about it. We all consider the source. Why should the Rutger's ladies even give a rat's ass what that guy said. Oh well... let's move on America!

ジェネヴィーヴ, you shouldn't worry about spelling.

I spell my own name wrong half the time.

As for this post...
Double standards are ridiculous.

I just shake my head.

Bitches & Ho's was my Senior Prom theme.

It's going to be even more romantic at the 20th reunion.

I had a friend right out of college who was an aspiring rapper and at this one point while we were hiding in my apartment from the cops that were ultimately going to come over to break up the party next door (which is whole other story) we were waxing philosophically. During this conversation, I asked a question of the rapper that made my other “cracker” friend (or “Honky” since we are both of Hungarian decent that just happened to be there too) very nervous: “Isn’t calling all women ‘bitches’ the equivalent of calling all black people the n-word?”
Strangely enough this did not result in a beating, but it also never resulted in an answer either, other than – “Oh man”, “you know” and “what it is is”…
It is good to see that your head was reattached successfully - but I feel commenting on the great idea of the “rotten tomato dating rating” site would be an equivalent brinksmanship as this episode seems to be (?).
